Process-sure industrial leak detection requires, that the test  device works reliable and provides reproducible measurement results.
By  the monitoring function "Still Alive Check" rare malfunctions will be found, which are caused by defect  internal components of the test device. This function is integrated by  default in the leak detector series CETATEST 810 und CETATEST 510.

Failures of the differential pressure sensor, of the valve system and of the A/D converter as well as cross leakages between the test and reference side are detected. Depending on the type of malfunction a specific error code is displayed by the test device. This helps to locate the failure.

The function "Automatic Function Control" has been patented by CETA Testsysteme GmbH. This optional functionality can be integrated in the leak detector series CETATEST 810 and CETATEST 510. The correct function and deflection at the working point of the test device in the real test process is checked, without using s specially prepared master test part. The effect of a defined pressure pulse to the measureing system is measured and evaluated. The pressure pulse has a similar magnitude like the pressure decay measured in the test phase. The function control can be performed after a selectable number of  test cycles without using a special program. An advantage of this functionality is that not for every single test situation a separate test leak has to be used. The quality of the fixture can also be checked by the automatic function control, if a leakproof master test part is used.
